25/2/16(Sunday) Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre & JII Collaborative Event – Seeking Guest Participants for a Theater Workshop! Why not create a theater play based on your experiences and thoughts?

We have another special opportunity for those interested in theater and artistic expression!

Following the theater workshop held in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre in November, we are now recruiting participants for the monitor program of the theater creation workshop scheduled for February 2025.

At the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, we have been nurturing talent through the “Tokyo Borderless Theatre Project,” a creative training program aimed at developing theater from intercultural dialogue. This initiative addresses the challenges of social participation for diverse individuals with different languages and cultures, fostering collaborative creation.

A trial workshop conducted by students of this course will be held on February 16, 2025 (Sunday). This workshop, created by creators who have completed the six-month TBTP course, will provide an opportunity for foreign residents and Japanese residents living in Japan to participate and share their feedback and opinions.

This is an opportunity for foreigners living in Japan to provide feedback to creators about their daily experiences and what they would like to see incorporated into theater. Whether you have a keen interest in theater and artistic expression or have never been involved in theater but want to express your own experiences and find it intriguing, we encourage you to apply!

The workshop will be conducted in Japanese. If you find it difficult to communicate in Japanese, please invite your Otonari-san partner or consult with JII (we will assign someone who can translate). Those who can speak Japanese are welcome to participate alone.

If you have an Otonari-san pair and wish to participate, Japanese individuals can join as well, so please invite your pair and participate together.
